Founder Bill McCleskey was a Business Account Executive (BAE) with a large cable provider and spent countless hours learning a system that attracted business clients there. “It was interesting to see how this huge company trained us to get customers everyday as a Sales Professional,” McCleskey says.
But one thing lacking McCleskey quickly realized was teaching the sales force the value of relationships. Mitech has been able to grow quickly through the leverage of hundreds of relationships with IT Consultants and Firms nationally who send telecom leads or referrals weekly to Mitech for service.
McCleskey started Mitech while still an employee at the large cable provider and was soon found out. Surprised that he was suspended with pay, McCleskey took the weekend to develop the resolve to go full time with Mitech. Within 12 months and an aggressive marketing campaign, Mitech attracted over 70 referral partners (IT Consultants) and over 300 clients in multiple states like Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Suites and the US Army. Years 2 and 3 saw even more growth.
Now with over 200 referral partners nationwide, the model continues to work and duplicate itself in the private and public sectors. The current Mitech client breakdown is shown below.
